Marcin Kozioł - guitarist from Poland. He started his music education at the age of 7. In 2015 he graduated from Music Academy of Gdańsk with distinction. In the academic year of 2013/2014 he studies with prof. Robert Brightmore at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London as a grant holder of the Erasmus Programme.
Marcin Kozioł in the winner of Grand Prize in the International Guitar Competition Academician Marin Goleminov Kyustendil, (Bulgaria 2012) and the first prizes in the international guitar competitions: Guitar Open Festival Subotica (Serbia 2012), Concorso Musicale Europeo Filadelfia (Italy 2014), Alirio Diaz Rome (2014).
He performed in Poland, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy and United Kingdom. Apart from his competition achievements Marcin Kozioł is a laureate of numerous prizes and scholarships like:
- - Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Prize,
- - Ministry of Science and Higher Education Scholarship,
- - Nomination for The Best Student of the year 2012/2013 in the Red Rose Competition,
- - Culture Around the World Scholarship by Adam Mickiewicz Institute,
- - Cultural Scholarship of the City of Gdańsk.
Since 2011 Marcin has been performing in a duo with accordionist Szymon Jabłoński. In 2014 they received Cultural Award for Young Artists from the President of the City of Gdańsk. In 2015 they have been invited for a concert tour in the United States with Carnegie Hall debut in New York as a laureate of IBLA Grand Prize Competition in Sicily. In 2016 they composed and performed music for a play Flucht/Ucieczka. In collaboration with German theatre Das letzte Kleinod they took part in 53 performances in Gdynia, Poznań, Frankfurt/Oder, Berlin, Hannover and Bremerhaven. In 2015 he started PhD studies at the Music Academy of Gdańsk.
